Matilda has been able to enjoy a few snow days over the past 2 weeks and next week has the whole week off for Winter Break. She is doing well overall. Still adjusting to my attention span with both kids. She has also been struggling with Max's extended surgery recovery.
He has been restricted to his crate for the past 6 weeks to keep weight off of his leg. He had knee surgery in December which replaced a portion of his leg with an 8 inch steel rod. This was to correct the bone that was originally "S" shaped and caused his knee to dislocate constantly. He has been in generally positive spirits overall, but Mat misses her dog waking her up and snuggling with her at will. We are hoping he will be back to 100% mobility after his next check-up in 5 weeks.
Oliver is growing and exploring. He loves to grab things and put them in his mouth....Including my hair. As his fine motor skills continue to develop, he will have more precise grabbing tactics. Right now he is battling yet another cold. Matilda brings every germ imaginable home with her from school. Extensive hand washing and sanitizer is taking its toll on both of our hands.
Well that's all for now. 2 weeks til spring break! I'm headed to sunny Cocoa Beach, FL and I cannot wait. Bring on the sunshine!
