Joyful January

This month has been full of lots of fun and Adventures. We started out in San Diego and are wrapping up the month with 55 degree temperatures and thunderstorms.

Yesterday Mat had her first ever snow day. I did get a bit of cabin fever being home alone with both kids all day. We ended up going to the library, which was a nice change of pace. We went to the downtown branch to get books. The kid area is just so much better than the Mallets Creek Branch. Both locations are equidistant to their house but MC has free parking in their parking lot.

Today Mat started taking swim lessons at Goldfish swim school. It's 100% better than the Ann Arbor Rec and Ed class we attended last week where the air and water were so cold that mat and I were both blue afterwards. There is one picture below from a distance of her in the pool.

San Diego

Here's a few pictures from our trip to San Diego!

Back into Routine

We returned home from our trip to San Diego safely; clearly. The trip was a lot of fun and a lot of work. Time zone changes are difficult to bounce back from.

Nothing extravagant happened this week. Just the normal school routine. B started teaching classes on Thursday and will teach Tuesday/Thursday for the rest of the semester. I'm hopeful this week passes as quickly and as easily as last week did. Happy January everyone.

Happy New Year

Along with everyone else, I cannot believe that it is already January. The past 4 months just flew by. Oliver is 12-weeks old today. I believe he's around 15 pounds now. Matilda, according to the not always reliable scale in her parents room, is 37 pounds and is very excited about it.

"Santa" was very good to Matilda and Oliver this year. Mat got lots of toy accessories for her bunny family. One of her favorite presents is the jumping castle that her GMum sent her. There's a picture of it below.

This weekend we are headed to an NBER conference in San Diego. I have been looking forward to this conference since last January when it was in Chicago. SD is such a beautiful city. I'm a little intimidated to try an manage both kids on my own outside of the house. Thankfully there's a reciprocal children's museum and library within walking distance of our hotel and the conference hotel. I'm sure ill have many pictures to post after this trip.
